Apple is coming with some updates with the new iOS 15 that will no doubt affect email marketing.

But how concerned should you be about this?

In this video, I’ll clear some doubts and share some ideas that will help you with this new iOS update.

If you need help with your email marketing, head over to http://oasisoptimization.com/

Let’s talk about the iOS 15 update, what that means as far as email. Should we be freaking out? Should we not? But let’s get into that. So real quick, I’m Adam Moody with Oasis Optimization. If you’d like help or you’d like to talk about your e-commerce email marketing, whether it’s automations, it’s flows, it’s content, it’s whatever you need. You can find me at Oasisoptimization.com. Now, about the iOS 15 update. Just to get everyone on the same page.

There’s two major things going on here, too. They have male privacy protection and hide my email. I think that I’m going to work backwards first, hide my email. It sounds like what it is. This allows people to sign up for email offers or opt-ins or whatever it is with an Apple-generated randomized address instead of their real one, then Apple then forwards it. So this to me is kind of a non-deal. After thinking about it and looking at what other people have said reading, for example, the Klaviyo blog, there’s a great blog post there by Val Geisler.

Val, if you ever see this, I hope I’m not butchering your name because I love your tweets. But anyways, it’s Val Geisler. But she had a great article, some great sources and a couple others that I read mentioned the same thing, that people have been doing this for a while. A lot of us have more than one email address. We have that one email address where we sign up for stuff and we know we’re going to get a ton of email there.

So this to me is nothing new. It does make it easier or maybe brings it into the mainstream and it’s something to watch. But really, this isn’t anything new. Now, on the other side of things, there’s the mail privacy protection. So the goal of this, or rather the end result is that it would block the sender’s ability to track opens and forwards. That is the gist of it. And what everyone, of course, is talking about is that now we won’t know open rates.

So what are we going to do? That’s a very important metric and one that the email service providers themselves use, which personally I think is one of the more interesting aspects of this, is that I haven’t seen yet how they’re going to adjust, for example, their algorithms and engagement to see what’s going on if they can’t see what’s happening. But let’s talkback, talk about ourselves, about our e-commerce stores, about our newsletters and how this is going to impact us.

First of all, nothing to panic about. I love the analogy to SMS. It’s something that has been around for a while, but it’s SMS messaging a little bit newer. But we’ve never had open rates. You never have any idea who opens the SMS. You can maybe they get a notification on their phone buzzes, but you don’t know who actually reads that. And yet it’s still a profitable channel. So this isn’t something that has to be done in order for email marketing to continue by any means.

I think that one of the best things you can do if you’re already using email in your business is to go ahead and find out if you don’t know this, find your numbers right or know your numbers. So, what are your base open and click-through rates right now on your automations, your flows as well as your campaigns. And that’ll give you a little bit of an idea moving forward, how things are matching up over time.

Less important but that’s something you could do now. One of the other things that are or rather a couple other things that I think are going to be really interesting is how flows operate. At least that’s in Klaviyo, depending if you’re using like Active Campaign or different systems, your automations, because a lot of these operate on things like clicked an email, purchased something, did this, did that. If you have flows or automations that are based on open, then you may want to be looking at other engagement metrics.

And a lot of these you could use like visited site. Most email systems have the ability to know when someone visits your website so you could trigger things that way. Basically anything but opening. You can still change it to. Another one is keeping your email as clean. A lot of engagement. Segmentation is based or partially based on opening. So you’re going to want to look at that. Maybe you have something where, you know, if somebody hasn’t opened an email or clicked an email in 90 days and they’ve been sent more than 10 emails.

That’s kind of a common way to clean up an email list. You may have to adjust that because you may start actually purging too many people out of your system. So some stuff to look at there. And I agree that using a combination, I’ve heard this a lot, instead of just saying open rate, trying a combination of how long they’ve been on your list, what other engagement signals they’ve had, and have they done things like visited the site, you really can combine this stuff and still get good results.

So I think that the most important part here is just to realize that, hey, this is coming. Is this guy falling? Nope. Email is still super effective and. What can you do now and now is to get ahead of it, look at, hey, are we highly dependent on open race? Do we have automations or flows that are solely relying on opening? Because if so, we probably need to adjust that. And just like mentioning the SMS and saying how we’ve never had open rates for that, if you’re not doing SMS that may be something that you want to start doing now, can be super profitable and a great way to augment your email sending.

So definitely a few things you can do there. So if you have questions about any of this or you’d like to talk about your e-commerce email marketing, how you can get that taken up several notches, you can find me at Oasisoptimization.com.

While more clients usually mean more money, there are reasons and benefits to working with just a handful.

Listen to the podcast interview I had with Arjun Sen here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/honest-reflections-helping-you-find-stay-on-your-path/id1523736239?i=1000525688516

If you want help with your email marketing, head over to https://oasisoptimization.com

So recently, I had the good opportunity to be on a great podcast. I want to tell you a little bit about but before I get into that real quick, if you don’t know who I am, I’m Adam Moody. I’m founder of Oasis Optimization. And while I talk mostly about e-commerce email marketing, I’m also highly involved in sales funnels, automation, productivity, all that sort of good stuff. So back to the main topic here at hand. So I was lucky enough to be interviewed by Arjun Sen you can find a link below to find out more about him.

Just had a really great conversation, he asked some really insightful questions and just had a great conversation with him. And one of the questions he asked me was about how I work and who I work with. And one of my answers to this, or rather the answer was that I work closely with a handful of clients at a time. I don’t have a hundred different small clients. I don’t have 60 clients all over the place. I don’t have a large number.

And that’s on purpose by design. And it’s one because I can only be spread so thin. And the answer or what people may be thinking is, well, you could just hire account managers and do this and that. Yeah, that’s true. That’s definitely one way you can do it. But for myself, I want to be involved to some degree in every business that I’m working with. And that doesn’t mean that I’m running the business or that I’m involved in it every single day.

But it does mean that there’s some understanding of what’s going on. I understand, I look through their website or their e-commerce store. I’m involved. I see the emails that we send out. I look at the designs. I understand who their customers are and I understand the person behind the business so that we can form the best relationship possible and help them out. But also that works both ways. So I don’t want to work with what I would call like absentee owners unless they have a CEO or a business manager who can interface with me or people who can’t really get involved with their businesses.

And that may sound kind of silly. I was writing my notes and thinking, like, should I really say this? I was like, yeah, this is true. It’s part of who I want to work with and the people I can help the most. And the reason I’m sharing this is I think it’s interesting and it’s important to understand this about yourselves, whether you’re on the client-side, whether you are looking for somebody to help you with your business, but understanding who you work with, who you deal with.

And while it may not be right every time, if you can narrow that down a little bit, you’re going to be started down that path to be getting the better help or providing the better results and depending on which side you’re on and enjoying it. With several of my clients, it’s not just transactional, with most of them it is not. It’s a relationship and getting to understand each other and getting to understand each other’s businesses and then all of the things that come out of that that are above and beyond, merely just helping them with one area like email marketing.

Once that relationship is formed, I understand it over time, maybe I can connect them with people who can help them in different areas. I can promote them via other clients or other people I know who could potentially promote their products, things like that, just all this sort of cool stuff that comes out of having that sort of a relationship. So that’s it for now. And speaking of email marketing, if you’d like help with yours, you can get in touch with me at Oasisoptimization.com.

Finding a reason to send out an email is not always easy.

In this video I list 10 reasons to write an email that might not have thought of.

If you need help with your email marketing, head over to https://oasisoptimization.com

If you’re like me, you’ve probably had writer’s block at some point or you’re just not sure about reasons to send an email or you’re looking for ideas. So today I want to share with you 10 reasons to write an email to your e-commerce subscribers or customers. I’m Adam Moody with Oasis Optimization. If you have questions about your e-commerce email marketing, you can get in touch with me at Oasisoptimization.com. Now, let’s get into this. There’s much more than 10.

I guess I might have to do some follow up videos, but let’s start with 10 and see if those help you. So first of all, if there’s a sale, don’t be afraid to say something about this. Let people know. By all means, I know a lot of times people get a little shy about this or they send out one email, but send out several, let people know about it. It’s of their benefit. And if that’s not the only thing you’re ever talking about, totally fine to do it.

Another good one is if you get a new testimonial back, let people know about that. You can even work that into a sale for some extra kind of bonus points there. And I guarantee you that it works very well to drive additional sales. So if you get a new testimonial, you could write a short email about that. Remember, this doesn’t have to be long. You don’t want to probably just copy and paste the testimonial, but you can easily write something around it, when somebody says something about your product or service.

Write a little bit around it. Hey, John had this to say. This is pretty amazing. People agree with him. But what do you think about what he had to say? And if it’s product-specific, it makes a lot of sense to link to the product. And then something else you can do is if it’s a really good testimonial, you can use the best sentence from it as a subject line. If it’s a really strong one, and then go on in the email to explain it and then have the whole testimonial on there.

That’s a great one. Let’s see. New product. Do you have a new product or new feature or even variation? Could be a color. Doesn’t have to be some whole new product line or anything. But make sure you’re telling people about that. You get a new let’s say you’ve got t shirts and you’ve got a new design, boom. Send an email out about that. Just hey, new design on the block. Come check it out.

Let’s see, what else do we got? I think that’s one, two, three, kinda four… let’s say that’s three. If you’ve got a new bundle, OK, this kind of goes along with that. But call that number four. A lot of times, maybe during the holidays especially, you might do some sort of a bundle, but you could do this at any time and just decide to do it, especially if you’re offering a discount, boom, send that out to people.

OK, FAQ emails. I know that some people have like really strong feelings about this. Like, well, if you’re sending out an FAQ email, you didn’t do a good job explaining your product. Hey, that’s great. And probably partially true. Hopefully you don’t have to send this out a lot. But not everyone sees everything you do all the time. Not everybody’s going to read the FAQ page. If you have common questions that come up, by all means, answer them.

You can work them into emails, which is definitely the more subtle way to do that. And great to do it if you’re doing like a longer promotion. But this could also just be something you send out. Maybe there’s something with your product, like you sell a frozen meal or frozen dessert, but you also sell it ready to eat or baked. Well, maybe let people know about that. If that’s not a common thing that people know or something you generally focus on.

Let people know about that stuff. Let’s see, number six, gifting. Almost anything that you’re selling could be positioned as a gift. So obviously, this works really well around the holidays, but you can use it as a reminder, maybe as like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, people’s birthdays, just positioning your product or service as a gift. So that’s a really good one to do as well. Now, this next one is just a tip, dive in the emails you subscribe to.

You do subscribe to emails, hopefully. If you’re sending or writing emails or you have someone on your team do it, make sure that they’re subscribing. There’s a lot of really good ideas out there and find a good one that you can model. All right. New social media post. There’s no reason to really beat your head against the wall when you’re probably out there. Do you have Instagram, Facebook? Do you have YouTube?

What are you talking about? Those can feed each other. Not everybody is watching every single channel that you have. And even if they are, it’s not a bad thing. You want to kind of reinforce these areas. So if you’ve got a good social media post, maybe you’ve got a cool picture. You’ve got something interesting going on that people are interacting with. Boom. Turn that into an email. Let’s see. Number nine, I’ll go with the Friday Roundup newsletter.

Really like using this one. And I like getting them especially if it has been busy. I can catch up over the weekend from brands or people that I follow and find out maybe things I missed. Maybe a new product came out and they have an interview with somebody. So it just depends on your tempo for emailing. But sending this out can be really effective and help encapsulate kind of everything that’s going on with the brand into one email.

OK, and last but not least, let’s pick a good one here. I’m looking at my long list. Let’s go with politics. It’s definitely been on my mind lately, heavy caveat, be aware of your audience, but there’s no reason you can’t talk about current events, especially in campaign emails, emails that go out one time. Tie that into your brand. I say you really do need to understand who you’re talking to and what you’re saying, but go ahead.

If you have positions as a business, take it. You’re going to be divisive, but you’re going to draw people who agree with you closer and people who don’t agree with you and wouldn’t align with your brand anyway, you’re going to push them apart. It’s going to make the people more attracted to you who would be anyways. OK, so if you’re not or you don’t have a stand, then you can just use pop culture or anything going on in the world and then correlate that into your product.

Something might be something that happened to you. This one’s easier as it is on the current event, of course. Let’s say you woke up and stubbed your toe and you sell coffee. And so let’s say, hey, I woke up, stubbed my toe, that hurts. Just starts throbbing and my foot is really hurt. But it’s not as bad as missing out on a cup of coffee. And you know how I feel if I don’t have that great fresh coffee.

Don’t forget, you can pick yours up here. Clearly, you want to do a little bit of more work than that on it. But that’s the general idea behind it, how you can kind of correlate those things together. So there you go. That is 10 ideas and maybe even a little bit more than that on how you can write some emails. And I will be back with some more in the future to definitely give you some more ideas and to help you bust through and get those emails going out to your subscribers.

And as always, just make sure you put them through the filter of, hey, you know, is this something they’d be interested in? Do my subscribers, do my customers want to hear about this?
Writing emails isn’t always easy.

And while it’s good to write about your products or services, doing it all the time is not.

But what other topics could you write about?

If you’re wondering about that, then you’ve come to the right place.

If you need help with your e-commerce email marketing, head over to https://oasisoptimization.com

How do you write emails that aren’t just about your product or service? I mean, I’m no different. Our favorite subject is ourselves, right? Whether it’s ourselves personally or our business. Is what we know the best and what we tend to talk about. But when we’re communicating via email, we don’t want to just constantly be talking to our subscribers and buyers about us. It just comes off me, me, me, me, me.

And we need to be thinking about them. So that’s the big part of this. But how do you translate that? Because it’s easy to say, well, just make sure your emails are about them, but what do you actually do? Well, let me give you a couple of tips in just a second. First of all, I’m Adam Moody with Oasis Optimization. If you would like to talk about how to improve your e-commerce email marketing, you can get in touch with me at Oasisoptimization.com.

Now, let’s get back to this and some actual tips on how to do this. Let’s just take an example. Let’s say you’re selling coffee beans. All right. Lots of businesses out there certainly doing that. So let’s think about it from the point of view of the customer. Hopefully, if you’re selling something, you’ve used it or you at least understand it very well. So let’s think like what else to coffee drinkers have interests about. Coffee makers I think comes to mind.

That’s an easy one on my end. Perhaps they drink other beverages. Like maybe they drink tea as well. They like hot beverages. They have hot beverages, maybe they want something to keep it in. Then maybe have a mug. Maybe that’s something they’re interested in. Let’s see if they’re buying beans or if they’re buying beans, then they’re probably into maybe knowing how to brew a really good cup of coffee. Because they’re not drinking instant coffee.

So maybe something about water temperature would be important. If it’s hot coffee, maybe they also drink cold coffee. So maybe like cold brew kits, let’s see, chocolate-covered coffee beans, grinders. We can even then zoom out and say, if you’re local, maybe they’re interested in breakfast places? If they’re coffee drinkers, maybe Bailey’s or something, that might just be me. But how to make good coffee while they’re camping or traveling?

Like if they’re on the road, how can they use your coffee beans? Also maybe gifts like how could they give this to someone, maybe buying in bulk. Whether maybe they run a business or maybe they just drink a lot of coffee or they have a big family. There’s a lot that goes into this. And these are all pretty tightly focused still. And you can start to really go out from that. But just consider it from their point of view and what else they would be interested in that you can talk about via email and while still working your product in.

So a lot of times this is just kind of a brain dump talking about coffee beans. But the question then I would ask if I were you is, how do you find this stuff out? Maybe you don’t know the business that well or you don’t know the industry or you just got a brain block. And the first thing I always tell people is ask your customers. If you haven’t done this recently, send out a survey or just send an email and say, hey, what else are you interested in?

And you’ll get some feedback. I, of course, would say maybe go a step further and actually send a survey and make it one question. You know, like what else would you like to know about? Or just what else is on your mind? Just make it open-ended so that they can give you their feedback in their own terms. You can, of course, incentivize this perhaps with a drawing or a giveaway to really increase the amount of replies.

But keep it short. And just ask for that open feedback. Let them tell you in their own words. And it’s pure gold and you’ll uncover things that you never would have thought of. I guarantee it. So that’s just a couple of ways to do this and turn this from kind of a conceptual “make it about them” to actually how you can do it and then ways you can go about that. Just remember, too, if you send out the survey and you get some great responses, that’s awesome.

Don’t be the person who never does this again. You can do this at least quarterly. You could probably do this monthly. Again, just depends on your business, how it’s set up. Just give it a shot. And I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised if the results you get back and if worst case, you get some great ideas and actually you could get as much as basically your entire content you ever have to write about. People are telling you what they want.

So take this, run with it. If you ever have any questions about it, you can get in touch with me at Oasisoptimization.com.

We all know that subject lines are an important part of email marketing.

But what if I told you that there’s a way to make them irrelevant and still grow your e-commerce store?

Constant quality content inside your emails can make your subscribers look forward to opening your emails regardless of what subject line or emoji you used.

If you need help with your email marketing, head over to https://oasisoptimization.com

If you want people to engage with your content, you’re probably thinking, how can I get those open rates up? How can I get my engagement metrics up? I want to have people opening my emails, my e-commerce store is making more money. So what can I do? What subject lines are like the magic thing? So I’m here to tell you what you actually want to do is make that stuff irrelevant. You don’t want to worry about like what emoji is going to be the thing that really does it?

Or what’s that secret formula for the subject line? Are those helpful? Are they tactics that can help you improve things? Definitely. But are they what you want to be focusing on at first? Definitely not. So going to get into that in just a second. First of all, I’m Adam with Oasis Optimization, if you would like help, if you have questions about your email marketing, about your e-commerce email marketing, you can get in touch with me at Oasisoptimization.com.

Now, what I want to talk about is what I mentioned. Of course, one of the things that commonly comes up is how can I craft a subject line? I need to get people more engaged with my email, so I’m going to focus on the subject line or the emoji to include or this or that. And a lot of times what it comes down to is making emails more about and for your audience. You want this stuff to become irrelevant, by stuff I mean subject line and things like that.

The little tactics that are helpful and can help you in the long term once you establish the baseline. And what I mean by baseline is making people want to open your emails. When people see your emails, if they don’t like what you send on a regular basis, there is no subject line that’s going to make you a winner in their eyes, there is no emoji that is going to win the day and turn things around. That’s why you want to consistently be sending them quality content.

And this doesn’t mean that you have to send long emails or that you can’t send promotional emails, but having a mix and always thinking about it from their point of view. You don’t want to just be talking about your product or your service. Be like me sitting here telling you about how I got 463% increase on an abandoned cart series, which I did, but you don’t care about that and it doesn’t matter. What you want to hear is a way that you can increase your results with email.

And this one today is again considering from their point of view and really just thinking, putting your emails through that filter and being like, hey, if I’m sending out just promotional emails, that’s a common one, maybe we need to put some content in there so that we’re providing some value in there, too. I mean, I like getting emails. I like getting promotional emails, discount emails, things like that. But if that’s all I ever get from a brand, it gets pretty old pretty quick.

And once that starts to go downhill again, there’s no subject line that’s going to turn that around. You’ve got to actually be kind of writing and sending some good, valuable content. So just keep that in mind as you’re writing. This doesn’t, of course, mean that, like I said, you can’t send promo emails or you can’t do this or can’t do that. But what you want to get away from is thinking, how can we optimize the subject line?

How can we use this or that emoji or this thing? Just consider the emails as a whole. Once you have that going, sure. Go for it. You know, really start playing around with the subject line, see what people are responding to. But if you don’t have that baseline of good content, all this other stuff isn’t going to matter. If you have any questions, comments about this, by all means, leave a comment on the video.

Of course, if you want to get in touch with me you can find out more at Oasisoptimization.com.

Automated emails are an essential part of an e-commerce store.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed and don’t know where to start, you’ve come to the right place.

If you want help with your email marketing, head over to https://oasisoptimization.com

How should you get started with email automations? Maybe you’ve heard about them, maybe you’re getting started with your e-commerce store or maybe your store exists and you’re like, oh, man, I don’t have these flows or automated emails that I hear all about. With most people, of course, you’ve heard about an abandoned cart email at least, and you’re thinking or you’re hearing people talk about these automations and how can I get that placed.

So that’s what I want to talk about today. It’s very simple ways to get started and some things to avoid too, some common traps that come across. So real quick, I’m Adam Moody Oasis Optimization. If you’d like help with your email marketing, with your automation, with your campaigns, with the writing, A to Z, anything to do with e-commerce email marketing, you can reach out to me at Oasisoptimization.com. Now, the one thing that I see when people come to me, a lot of times they’re wondering, oh, I’ve seen I’ve got to have this email automation that does all this complex stuff.

Let’s say I’ve got a store and it needs to have I saw someone who’s got like eight emails and there’s all these branching points and something like this going on. That’s totally fine. That can bring you some great results. But as a starting point and getting started with automated emails, I generally tell people, especially if they’re doing it themselves, to stay away from this. That like anything, you want to walk before you run and get some confidence going before you turn something on.

And maybe something does go wrong. But more than just worrying or saying, hey, something could go wrong, it’s just that people have a hard time overcoming that obstacle. And I totally understand that. It was there when I was setting up my first store and seeing what everyone else was doing, who is many steps ahead of me, that they have these really complicated flows. And I looked into these programs and trainings and they had all these great ideas.

But a lot of times it’s just get something implemented and learn from that. And you want it to be good. Of course you want it to perform well. You want it to be something you’re proud of sending. But just remember, start simple and you can always add on to that. So in this example, what I would say is that this is maybe your more complicated abandoned cart sequence, just start with what they give you. Maybe if you’re using Klaviyo, I know that they give you a nice example.

I think it’s just one email, might be two now. But go ahead and just fill that out, customize it, take the time to learn how to do that. Or if you have someone on your team, have them do that, or if you’re working with somebody else, whoever it may be. But just get that implemented and see what those results are. That gives you a baseline, gives you the confidence that it’s working as well as getting some feedback.

So once you have that in place, then you can add all that stuff that I erased. Maybe base things off of actions people take or what they have or haven’t done. But again, going back to it, start simple and get it implemented so that you could start seeing some results. It gives you the confidence that this is working or if you do see something isn’t working, at least you didn’t invest all that time and effort building out some complex thing that just won’t work.

So that is definitely how I recommend you get started with automations in emails, especially for e-commerce stores. If you have questions about this or anything else with your email marketing, just go over to Oasis Optimization, get in touch. We can hop on a call. And hopefully that answers your questions about this. If you do have questions specific to this, you can leave a comment on the video or just get in touch with me via the website.

Have a good one.

You have an e-commerce store and are sending out emails, great!

But do you know what your open rates are supposed to be?

It varies from industry to industry but as with everything, there’s an average.

You can check these links for more information:

https://www.campaignmonitor.com/resources/guides/email-marketing-benchmarks/

https://www.klaviyo.com/blog/ecommerce-industry-performance-benchmarks

If you want help with your e-commerce email marketing, head over to https://oasisoptimization.com

So are you wondering if your emails with your e-commerce store are kind of hitting the right metrics and are you in the right area or are you getting way better open rates or worse rates? Are you in danger of your ESP or email service provider telling you, hey, you’ve got terrible engagement rates? Like what is that? So let’s talk about this. Just as a general ballpark number, a good estimate to go by is 20 percent. It’s not that you can’t have less than 20 percent open rate and be doing OK, but that’s the kind of ballpark number you’re going to be looking for.

Definitely, if you’re going under 15 percent, you’re going to start probably experiencing some issues depending on who you’re using. So it’s important to also note that this varies by industry. I know a lot of them break it down by things like apparel, automotive, electronics, food and beverage, health and beauty, office supplies, jewelry, things like that. But when you look at these and you can look into the description below, if you’re watching this on YouTube, you can check out the links below from two places, one being Klaviyo, it’s a really good email service provider that I highly recommend for e-commerce stores.

And then there’s also another one from Campaign Monitor, but you’ll see things around 17-ish percent, up to maybe 21, 22 percent. And again, you’ll see and hear of people getting far more than that. And of course, you do want people to be engaging, but it’s not always apples and apples. A bigger list, you may have someone that needs to clean the list and by that maybe you’re not getting rid of the people who aren’t engaging.

So that could be a reason that you’re seeing lower open rates and you need to deal with that. It could be the quality of the content you’re sending out. That if it’s not very good or is not engaging with people and it’s just all promotional that you’re finding problems there. So there isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer to this, but it’s an area to be aware of that there’s several levers you have to help fix this. And you definitely, if you can get over 20 percent, go higher and higher if you can.

And one of the things that I like to tell people when they ask, how do I do this in terms of the content side of things, is remember to talk about them and them being your customers and your subscribers. When you’re sending something out, will it interest them or does it will interest them from their point of view? And will a sale interest them? Yes, most likely, if that’s all you’ve ever sent out, maybe not. Let’s say you’ve got a new office.

That’s something to talk about, but you need to frame it in a way that it makes sense to them and it gives them a benefit. Maybe it means that you have a new office or a warehouse and it’s going to reduce your shipping time. Great. Tell them about it. That’s a good benefit for them. And as you do that, you can help drive up your open rates. So, again, check out the numbers of the included links below if you want more data on that.

But a ballpark number to shoot for is about 20 percent. If you’re over that, you’re generally doing better than average. If you’re under that a little bit, you get away with it, but you probably want to look at improving and bringing things back up. So if you’d like help with your e-commerce email marketing, you can get in touch with me at Oasisoptimization.com.

Are you getting a huge influx of customer support emails from people asking common questions?

If you want to decrease the number of emails you get and focus on things that are more important, consider answering those kinds of questions when you’re sending out emails.

If you need help with your email marketing, head over to https://oasisoptimization.com

All right, so how is it that you can lower the amount of time and effort you have to put into customer service, just using email with your e-commerce store? We’re gonna dive into that in just a second. First of all, I’m Adam with Oasis Optimization. If you’d like more help with your email marketing, with sales funnels, anything else, you got some questions about it, hit me up at Oasisoptimization.com. Now, let’s talk about this. So how is it this can result, just by using email, in lowering your customer support issues?

Well, one way that you can do it, and this is just totally tactical, but it applies across a lot of the emails you send is answering people’s questions. Make sure that you’re working those into emails. You can either get with your team. If you have someone writing copy, if you’re writing the emails yourself as you’re getting this back through your customer support channels, even whether it’s messaging, whether it’s emails, whatever it is, what is it people are asking you?

Is it what are the prices? What are the shipping times? What does this? What does that? Work that into the emails. If you’re doing a promotion on a certain product, you can work that in. That’s a reason to send an email. Hey, did you know that this product will arrive in X number of days or it comes in these colors? That sort of thing.

People want to know this information and doing that, you’re already kind of overcoming objections if there are objections in the questions or you’re just answering them ahead of time and making it easier for them to go ahead and purchase.

And the second part of this that I really like is: one, that you’re going to drive more sales by sending these emails, but also you’re going to lower the level of customer support issues that you have to deal with, whether it’s you, your team, whatever it is, which means they can focus more on serving the customers better, with the bigger issues, they’re spending more time on it or doing things to improve the experience overall.

So that’s kind of rises, what is the phrase that the rising tide floats all ships? Everything gets better from this. And a lot of times we look at email and it’s true that it can provide this 20, 30, 40 percent bump in revenue when done effectively. But there’s also the side of it that when again, done effectively and you’re answering objections, you’re answering questions that this can also then lower the customer support needs and the amount of time you have to spend dealing with that stuff, which is fantastic.

So, again, if you’d like help with your e-commerce email marketing, you have questions about that or sales funnels. You can get in touch with me at Oasisoptimization.com.

The Abandoned Cart flow is essential if you’ve got an e-commerce store.

And while having just one email is much better than not having any, there’s always room for improvement.

Adding different paths to the flow and sending different options (discount coupons) whether people have bought before is just one example.

Don’t leave money on the table.

If you need help with your email marketing and flows, head over to https://oasisoptimization.com

OK, so you’ve got your e-commerce store, you’ve got your abandoned cart flow, but you’re wondering what you could be doing better. OK, I’m Adam Moody with Oasis Optimization, and I want to not only help you today with something you can implement on your own or with your team right now, but if you’d like help with your e-commerce, email marketing, with sales funnel, you just have some questions. You get in touch with me at Oasisoptimization.com.

Now, as far as improving your abandoned cart flow, generally what people have is kind of a stock setup, which is far better than not having it in place. So if you’ve got one email, that’s fine. I’m not going to tell you to go back and redo things. But what you want to do is add to this over time. A lot of times people get it set up and there’s one, possibly two emails. And really what you can do is extend that and maybe add some variations based on whether or not people have purchased before.

If they haven’t purchased before, depending on your industry, you may want to add some more follow-ups or offering them a discount if they have purchased before, which you can do with most email systems and whether or not you’re working with Shopify, Woocommerce, whatever it may be, then maybe you don’t want to offer discount because you know that they’ve already purchased. They’re going to come back. But you could do some more personalized follow-up.

And what I will say is, if you’ve just got that one email, maybe two, go ahead and add that third email, add one or two emails onto there, it really does make a difference. You don’t need to follow these people with abandoned card emails for the rest of their lives, but you can extend this out so it’s more than just that first 12 hours or 24 hours afterwards. Follow up that one more time. It’s money left on the table and you will have people coming back and purchasing.

So two easy ways there. One is just extending your abandoned car flow, and then two, personalizing it slightly based on whether or not they purchase. So I guarantee you that will increase the revenue from your abandoned car flow. So please put that used to put that to use today, starting to lose my mind as I’m packing up and getting ready to move. But please, if you have any more questions about abandoned car flows, get in touch with me at Oasisoptimization.com.

If you run an e-commerce store and are not sending out emails, you’re losing money.

Effective use of email marketing can add a significant amount of revenue to your bottom line.

If you need help with your email marketing, head over to https://oasisoptimization.com

So how much money can email marketing really make for your e-commerce store? It’s a good question. And if you have a store or you’re helping run a store, it’s something that definitely should be on your mind, whether you’re not doing any email marketing yet, you’re thinking about it or you’ve started and you wonder where should you be. So first of all, I’m Adam with Oasis Optimization. If you’d like help with your email marketing, with sales funnels, anything like that, head over to Oasisoptimization.com.

Get in touch with me there. Now, as far as what email marketing can do in terms of revenue for your store, a good ballpark number is to say, look, if you’re really not doing any email marketing or you’re doing it poorly or sporadically, this can add 20 percent to your revenue. And that’s a pretty low number. But it’s something that we can confidently say based on dealing with a lot of accounts. So can it go higher than that?

You bet. So if you check out these stats, leave those up there for a second. You can see that this contributes anywhere from mid 20s up to we’ve seen as high as 60, 70 percent. That is definitely on the high side. Is that guaranteed to happen for you? No. But if you’d like to add 20 percent, 30 percent, 40 percent to your bottom line, then effective email marketing for your e-commerce store is definitely a great way to go.

And it does two things at once. It’s bringing in that revenue, but it’s also forming that connection with your customers and giving you that higher lifetime value and building your brand relationship with these people, with your subscribers, with your customers. So I love that it’s not just a hey, it’s going to pump more money into it if you just email people all the time, because that’s not effective email marketing. Right? It’s having your automated flow set up, getting back in touch with people, having interesting information to send them that they want to hear about.

But you do all that and you will definitely see the bump in revenue. So hopefully this helps. Again, if you’d like help with your email marketing, with your e-commerce store, get in touch with me at Oasisoptimization.com.
